We have used zebrafish embryos to dissect the promoter activity of a gene with a complex expression pattern during embryogenesis. GATA-2 is a transcription factor required for hematopoiesis and is dynamically ex- pressed in hematopoietic tissues and in the central nervous system. Using constructs containing zebrafish GATA-2 genomic flanking sequences and the green fluorescent protein (GFP) reporter gene, we demonstrate that distinct regulatory domains are required for hematopoietic, enveloping layer (EVL), and neuronal expression of GATA-2.

In the microelectronics industry, reliability of a package is usually assessed by the integrity of its solder joints. Tin-lead eutectic and near-eutectic solder alloys are the most commonly used bonding materials in electronic packaging, providing electrical and thermal interconnection, as well as mechanical support The temperature fluctuations as a result of device internal heat dissipation and ambient temperature changes, combined with the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) mismatch between the solder and packaging materials, result in ther-mo-mechanical fatigue of the solder joints. Progressive damage eventually leads to device failure.

The channel output of a multi-wavelength pyrometer is the brightness temperature rather than the true temperature. Twice recognition method is put forward to change the brightness temperatures of a multi-wavelength pyrometer into the true temperatures of targets. Using the data offered by Dr. F. Righini, the experimental results show that the difference between the calculated true temperature based on twice recognition method and the real true temperature is within ±20 K. The method presented in this paper is feasible and effective for the true temperature measurement of targets.
